WSIU Election Special | 117th Illinois House

This broadcast features two of the three candidates running in the 117th Illinois House District. Incumbent Democrat John Bradley of Marion and Republican challenger Christopher McCann of Benton are interviewed by Jak Tichenor of WSIU Public Television and Jennifer Fuller of WSIU Radio. Constitution Party candidate Dale Dorch of Herrin was invited to participate in the discussion, but did not attend the interview.

The candidates will discuss their positions on Governor Pat Quinn's decision to close the Tamms Correctional Center, Illinois Youth Center, and other local state facilities, dealing with the state's $83-billion unfunded pension liability, balancing the state budget, fracking, and the future of concealed carry legislation in Illinois.

Rep. Bradley is an attorney who has served in the Illinois House since June 2003 where he currently chairs the House Revenue & Finance Committee and the House Labor Committee.

Mr. McCann is an educator who currently serves as Superintendent of Kell Community Consolidated School District 2 in Kell, Illinois.
