Carbondale Ill. -- Saluki Basketball will return to WSIU Public Television, a public media arm of Southern Illinois University Carbondale, beginning in January as the stations present an exclusive multi-game broadcast package featuring six SIU Men's Basketball games and one SIU Women's basketball game. The games will air live on WSIU's main channels of TV 8.1 and TV 16.1. Each game will be rebroadcast on WSIU's second digital television channel, WSIU World, on 8.2 and 16.2.
“This is a great opportunity for us to fill another local programming need,” said Greg Petrowich, Executive Director of WSIU Public Broadcasting.”Interest in the Salukis is always high, and WSIU's reach into five states means 3-million people will get a chance to watch and hopefully become Saluki fans.”
The broadcast schedule is as follows:
Tue., Jan. 4, 7pm: SIU Men at Bradley (repeats 10pm on WSIU World 8.2/16.2)
Sun., Jan. 9, 2pm: SIU Men vs. Illinois State, at Carbondale (repeats 7pm on WSIU World 8.2/16.2)
Sat., Jan. 15, 7pm: SIU Men at Northern Iowa (repeats 10pm on WSIU World 8.2/16.2)
Sat., Jan. 29, 7pm: SIU Men at Evansville (repeats 10pm on WSIU World 8.2/16.2)
Sat., Feb. 5, 2pm: SIU Men vs. Bradley, at Carbondale (repeats 7pm on WSIU World 8.2/16.2)
Tue., Feb. 8, 7pm: SIU Men at Wichita State (repeats 10pm on WSIU World 8.2/16.2)
Sat., Mar. 5, 2pm: SIU Women vs. Missouri State, at Carbondale (repeats 7pm on WSIU World 8.2/16.2)
