Carbondale Ill. – WSIU Public Television, a public media arm of Southern Illinois University Carbondale, is pleased to announce it will provide live coverage of two SIU Football games this month: the SIU vs. Northern Iowa game on Saturday, October 22 at 3pm CT and the SIU vs. Illinois State game on Saturday, October 29 at 2pm CT.
Both games will air live on WSIU's primary HD channels, WSIU-TV 8.1 and WUSI-TV 16.1, with a repeat broadcast at 7pm on the same day on WSIU's second digital television channel, WORLD, WSIU-TV 8.2 and WUSI-TV 16.2.
"Audience response to our Live Saluki Sports coverage was very favorable last year, so we're pleased to be back for another season," said Greg Petrowich, Executive Director of WSIU Public Broadcasting. "Adding football should be great for SIU fans and our students who get to work on the live telecasts."
WSIU is also planning to broadcast multiple SIU Basketball games during the 2011-12 season, beginning with a Monday, December 19th tilt vs. the SIU Edwardsville Cougars. The game will air live at 7pm on WSIU's main HD channels, 8.1 and WUSI 16.1, with a repeat at 10pm on WSIU WORLD, WSIU 8.2 and WUSI 16.2.
