Carbondale, Ill. - Calling all kids! Would you like to learn how to make money - and take home some great prizes? Sign up to participate in WSIU's Biz Kid$ Bash on Saturday, August 1 from 11am to 3pm at Center Court at the Illinois Centre Mall, 3000 West DeYoung Street in Marion, Illinois.
Sponsored by WSIU, in partnership with the SIU Credit Union and the Illinois Centre Mall, this free public event is designed to teach money management skills to children in grades four through nine.
Participants will enjoy video clips from the PBS television series Biz Kid$, then form teams and compete for prizes as they learn how to create and manage their own businesses. From formulating a business plan to creating company logos and developing price lists, children will gain money management skills while learning social responsibility. The winning team will receive gift cards and other prizes. All participants will receive a certificate of achievement and a bag of goodies to take home. Lunch and beverages will be provided.

Biz Kid$ airs on WSIU TV 8/WUSI TV 16 on Thursdays and Fridays at 4:30pm. The series features real-life kid entrepreneurs who demonstrate the importance of budgeting, saving, and giving back to the community.
