Carbondale, Ill. - Cleaning out your closets this summer? Donate your old record albums, CDs, DVDs, VHS and cassette tapes, and working stereo equipment for a public sale to benefit the Southern Illinois Radio Information Service (SIRIS).
The second annual SIRIS Classic Vinyl & Media Sale will be held Saturday, September 12 from 8am-7pm, next to Hot Topic in the University Mall,1237 East Main in Carbondale, Illinois.
Individuals who wish to donate items for the sale may drop off their donated media and equipment at the University Mall Information Center and the SIU Credit Union's Marion branch at 2809 Outer Drive in Marion, Illinois. Materials must be in good condition.
Items will be accepted through Friday, August 28.
All proceeds from the sale will benefit SIRIS, a free radio information service for individuals who are blind or visually-impaired, or whose physical condition makes it difficult or impossible to read. Broadcasts include regional and national newspapers and magazines, book reviews, and more. SIRIS is a service of WSIU Public Radio and Southern Illinois University Carbondale, and is also supported by the United Way.
