Additional items for sale include CDs; DVDs; VHS tapes; cassettes; 8-tracks, 78s, and 45s; audio books; stereo equipment, including turntables, tuners, and speakers; VCRs; and more. CDs are just $2.00, and DVDs are priced at $3.00 each. Prices are below $1.00 for other items, and buyers will find excellent deals throughout the event.

All proceeds from the sale benefit SIRIS, a radio information service for individuals who are blind, visually-impaired, or otherwise unable to read for themselves. SIRIS programming is delivered to over 1,000 residents across Southern Illinois via a closed-circuit sideband channel of WSIU Public Radio's main signal. Special receivers are provided free of charge to qualified users. Broadcasts feature regional and national newspapers, book reviews, and more, all read by volunteers. SIRIS volunteers are University students, including fraternity and sorority members; WSIU staff and student employees; and community members.
SIRIS is a service of WSIU Public Radio and Southern Illinois University Carbondale, and is also supported by the United Way.
