Carbondale, Ill. – Looking for a turn table? A collectible album? CDs, DVDs, and electronic games to add to your entertainment collection? Find your treasure and more at the 4th Annual SIRIS Classic Vinyl & Media Sale, coming to the University Mall, 1237 East Main in Carbondale, on Saturday, September 10 from 10am to 9pm and Sunday, September 11 from noon to 6pm. The sale will be located in the store front next to Hot Topic.
The Southern Illinois Radio Information Service (SIRIS) and WSIU Public Radio, a public media arm of Southern Illinois University Carbondale (SIUC), are hosting the sale, with the support of the University Mall. Additional sponsors this year include the SIU Credit Union, Wright Do-It Center, Lyn-Nita Winery, and the Du Quoin Public Library.
From Elvis to ELO, from Benny Goodman to Beyonce, from Pavarotti to Patsy Cline, you'll find popular and little-known gems from every musical genre at this year's sale.
Collectible albums will be featured in a special section and will be priced accordingly; other albums are priced at $1.00 each. Additional items for sale will include CDs, DVDs, VHS tapes, cassettes, electronic games, audio books, and stereo equipment, including turntables, tuners, and speakers. CDs are just $2, and DVDs are priced at $3.00 each. Prices are below $1.00 for other items, and buyers will find excellent deals throughout the event.
Volunteers are needed to assist with organizing sale items from 6-9pm beginning Monday, August 29 through Friday, September 2 and again from Tuesday, September 6 through Friday, September 9.
Questions about the sale or about volunteering should be directed to Vickie Devenport at (618) 453-6148, firstname.lastname@example.org.
All proceeds from the sale will benefit SIRIS, a radio information service for individuals who are blind or whose physical condition makes reading difficult or impossible. Operated by WSIU Public Radio, SIRIS features recordings of regional and national newspapers and magazines, book reviews, and more. Special radios are provided free of charge to qualified users. SIRIS is supported in part by the United Way.
