Angelina Ballerina™, the Little Star With Big Dreams, Takes Center Stage at
Marion Cultural and Civic Center On Saturday, June 12, 2010

Marion, IL / New York, NY -- HIT Entertainment, a leading provider of quality children's entertainment, the Friends of WSIU, and WSIU Public Broadcasting, the public media arm of Southern Illinois University Carbondale (SIUC), invite area children to meet Angelina Ballerina™ on Saturday, June 12 at the Marion Cultural and Civic Center, 800 Tower Square Plaza, Marion, Illinois. The little mouseling will be at the Marion Cultural and Civic Center for 30-minute intervals between 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Angelina is appearing prior to the Southern Illinois Music Festival's 2:00 pm matinée performance of "Romeo & Juliet."

As Angelina Ballerina dances her way through the Marion Cultural and Civic Center, she will be available to pose with kids and families for photos at 11:30 am and 12:30 pm. Parents are encourage to bring their cameras for their children's photo op with Angelina!

Kids also will enjoy watching videos, making cool stuff at activity stations, and fun and educational items to take home.

Angelina Ballerina is an imaginative, clever, determined little mouseling who is passionate about dancing and life. Both on and off stage, Angelina is a feisty spirit bursting with energy. She is constantly plié-ing, pirouetting, and jeté-ing with exuberance! This little star with big dreams works hard to reach her goals and along the way, always learns from her mistakes.

With determination, tremendous natural ability, and enormous passion, Angelina Ballerina always steals the show. She is a devoted ballet student, good friend, and loving daughter. She is also clever and highly imaginative, and no matter what obstacles lay in her path, she will find a solution to the problem and in a comical and creative way, set things right again. When little girls share in Angelina's experiences, they're inspired to go after their big dreams too!

Angelina Ballerina™ The Next Steps is a production of HIT Entertainment and THIRTEEN in association with Nick Jr. UK and WNET.ORG. Inspired by the original best-selling children's book series by author Katharine Holabird and illustrator Helen Craig, Angelina Ballerina™The Next Steps follows the now 8-year-old Angelina as she embarks on the next stage in her life at a performing arts school, Camembert Academy. This new series finds Angelina making new friends and experiencing various forms of music and dance including ballet, modern, tap, jazz, ballroom, and hip hop, as well as ethnic dances from around the world.
